The Malaysia Strategic Trade Control Community (MYSTCC) successfully hosted its Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on 23 June 2026 at MITI Penang, bringing together 34 hybrid participants representing 21 corporate entities.

The EGM served as a key milestone to formalise MYSTCC’s long-term governance strategy, transitioning the pro-tem framework into an active, industry-led organisation in compliance with the Registry of Societies (Societies Act 1966).

Key Highlights & Decisions:
New 2026–2028 Executive Committee: Members unanimously elected a new 10-post committee led by Mr. Cheah Hup Lim (Keysight Technologies) as President and Mr. Ahmad Fuzli Fuad (SME Aerospace) as Vice President.
Strategic Appointments: Formalised key leadership roles, appointing the Strategic Trade Secretariat (STS), MITI as Patron, Dato’ Mohamed Shahabar Abdul Kareem as Advisor, and Datin Mega Marissa Malek as Executive Director.
Governance Upgrades: Approved foundational frameworks for constitutional amendments and new operational By-Laws to establish a dedicated Executive Branch, which will be formally tabled at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Compliance & Audit: Appointed independent auditor and successfully streamlined the roadmap for historical regulatory submissions to ROS KL.

Moving Forward
With a robust executive model now in place, MYSTCC is gearing up for its 2026–2028 strategic roadmap. Moving into Q4 2026 and early 2027, the community will focus on upgrading its digital infrastructure, initiating industry classification working groups, and launching specialized Tier 1 & Tier 2 e-Learning compliance tracks.

“Maintaining a robust strategic trade control culture is not merely a regulatory burden but a competitive advantage that safeguards Malaysia’s position as a trusted hub for high-tech manufacturing, aerospace, and logistics.” Mr. Cheah Hup Lim, MYSTCC President.
